A scaffolding collapsed in Brooklyn Wednesday afternoon, injuring one person, authorities say.
The incident occurred at 2831 Church Ave. in East Flatbush shortly after 2 p.m., FDNY officials say. A brick parapet wall and store sign from the building collapsed onto the sidewalk below, according to city building officials.
A woman was treated at the scene for a minor injury to her leg, according to officials. No other injuries were reported.
Surveillance video obtained by News 4 shows a woman running away from the collapse as a huge plume of dust and debris covers the camera.
The building, along with three neighboring buildings, were vacated, the city buildings officials said. The 58 people who were displaced -- 14 families including 18 children -- were being offered emergency housing and funds.
The Red Cross is assisting those displaced families, but it's unclear how long they will be away from their homes.
