A school bus and at least three other vehicles were involved in a crash just off the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge in Queens early Wednesday, snarling traffic ahead of the morning rush as swarms of emergency personnel responded.
No injuries were immediately reported following the 6 a.m. crash by 31st Street and Hoyt Avenue, under the Astoria-Boulevard subway station, in Astoria.
Chopper 4 over the scene showed the school bus teetering on its side, leaning onto a smaller black car. Feet away, a truck, possibly one carrying gas or oil, was smashed into the back of another small black car.
The ramp to 31st Street was shut down, leading to traffic backups in the area.
A cause of the crash is under investigation.
