A shooting in New Jersey's largest city left a 16-year-old dead and wounded a 17-year-old, prosecutors said Saturday.
Police found both teens with gunshot wounds at about at 3 p.m. Friday on Hawthorn Avenue in Newark, according to Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly of the Prosecutor's Homicide Unit.
Both of the victims live in Newark, prosecutors said. One was pronounced dead at the scene, the other was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing, prosecutors said.
