Suspect in Police Shooting at Home Depot in Custody

A police chase involving 29-year-old Armando Luis Juarez, who Dallas police said was a "person of interest" in Tuesday's shooting involving two police officers and a security guard at a Home Depot store is now over.

The chase ended near the intersection of Lemmon Avenue and Versailles Avenue. Dallas Police have confirmed that Juarez and a female that was inside the truck at the time are both now in custody.

"Mr. Armanda Juarez was arrested – he is facing multiple counts of aggravated assault on a police officer. He had an outstanding warrant for felony theft as well. Going forward, we will make sure this individual is questioned and taken to Lew Sterrit jail for processing," said Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall at a press conference Tuesday night.

The shooting happened about 4:30 p.m. at a Home Depot store in the 11600 block of Forest Central Drive in Dallas Tuesday afternoon. Two Dallas police officers and a Home Depot loss prevention officer were all shot.

Earlier in the day, multiple sources told NBC DFW that one of the officers had died, but during a news conference Tuesday evening Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall said she would not release the conditions of those shot --  therefore NBC DFW will await official confirmation on the officers' conditions.

"All three officers are out of surgery – That’s the two officers from Dallas, and the loss prevention officer from Home Depot," said Chief Hall.

All of those injured in the shooting were transported to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas.

Officers said they arrested Juarez Tuesday night after a short police chase.

NBC 5's Jack Highberger spoke with Juarez's grandmother, Janie Longoria, Tuesday night. She said her family "backs the blue."

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings sent out a statement on Twitter after the shooting.

Gov. Greg Abbott also tweeted about the incident.
