A New Jersey high school was placed on lockdown Friday, days after two students were arrested for allegedly conspiring to carry out a Columbine-style shooting there.
But it's still not clear what prompted the lockdown. Parents and students at Eastside High School in Paterson expressed frustration over the lack of answers in the alarming police activity at school Friday.
Students say the lockdown lasted for at least two hours before they were dismissed at 2 p.m., an hour earlier than normal. Paterson police cars were seen blocking the entrance to the school.
"I got really scared 'cause I heard police sirens and no one was saying anything to us," said student Kadenna Morris.
Paterson public schools alerted parents on social media and informed them of the all-clear.
A 14-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy who attend the school were arrested on terroristic threat charges in an alleged shooting plot targeting both Eastside and the New Roberto Clemente elementary school, which the students once attended. A police search of their homes turned up no weapons, authorities said.
