A tornado touched down in Suffolk County Monday morning, the National Weather Service confirmed.
Numerous trees and power lines were downed after the tornado touched down on Fishers Island at 7:35 a.m.
The NWS also reports that small buildings were removed off of their foundations.
The National Weather Service says a team will conduct on-site surveys and provide more details subsequently.
